Y comes in for a palm reading
Today’s story is about 69-year old Y, a business owner who lives overseas, and who recently came in for a palm reading session.
He told me something interesting, which I thought I would share with you all here.
As someone who runs his own company overseas (in the U.S.), Y is quite a pragmatic and intellectual individual.
Y’s experience of the red thread of fate
In the midst of the palm reading, we had this conversation.
“The red thread of fate actually exists, doesn’t it,” Y said.
“Oh? Did you actually see it?” I asked.
In response, Y said, “Yes, I did. When I was in my 30s, working in the U.S. as a tour guide for Japanese tourists,
I was assigned to two Japanese women who’d come on a trip together.
On the first day of the tour, I was walking through the hotel lobby with these two women side by side to my right.”
He could see a red thread connected to one of the women
Y continued, “And then I saw it, quite clearly. The red thread. I remember thinking, ‘What is that?’
It was like a strand of red wool… about as thick as a thread. So yes—it really exists.”
I said, “And where was the thread coming from?”
“I followed the thread with my eyes to see where it was coming from and where it led,” Y said.
“And was surprised to see that it was coming out of my pinky, and that it led to the pinky of the woman walking to my right (the woman he would later marry and would become his wife).”
30 years of marriage thereafter
This was the story Y shared during his palm reading session—the red thread he saw on the day he met his wife.
The two of them soon married.
The two of them shared a marriage that lasted over thirty years after they met, until two years ago, when his beloved wife passed away.
The ancient tale of the red thread of fate
It is said that two people who are destined to marry are connected by the red thread of fate. Indeed, as with Y, there must have been many people throughout history, all around the world, who have actually seen this red thread. And that is how this legend has continued to be passed down through the ages.
And so, just another story of a palm reading.
