S’s truly terrible experience with a fortune teller
This is a story from S (36 years old; unmarried), who came in for a palm reading session.
She shared an experience she had once had with a fortune teller.
When she was 28, she’d gone to see a female fortune teller who was said to be quite accurate in her readings,
and who’d even appeared on TV.
This female fortune teller was in her 40s, very overweight, and had a very domineering attitude.
The fortune teller gives S an ominous prediction, like a poison arrow
Apparently, this fortune teller, after hearing S’s birth date, said:
“From ages 36 to 50, you’ll have extremely bad fortune. If you don’t get married by then, you’ll be alone for the rest of your life.
Even if you do get married, you’ll definitely get divorced. And if you have children, you’ll struggle greatly because of them.”
Honestly… how could she say something so cruel?
This is just a truly terrible fortune teller.
People go to fortune tellers because they want to be happy. If you leave them more miserable than before, what’s the point?
When a fortune teller gives you an ominous prediction, it’s like being shot with a poison arrow.
The poison spreads through your body, and eventually poisons your life.
The poison from the poison arrow leads you toward an unhappy destiny
What happens is this:
when you believe an ominous prediction, your subconscious mind accepts it as truth, and you end up leading the kind of unhappy life that was predicted for you.
This is because it is ultimately the subconscious mind that shapes a person’s destiny.
So what ended up happening to S?
Just as predicted, she reached the age of 36 without marrying. Because she had been told she would not be able to marry past that age, she became afraid.
She wanted to find some way—any way—to change her fortune and find a path toward marriage. And so she came to me for a palm reading.
Reject negative predictions completely, then speak a positive future out loud (10 times)!
When I read S’s palms, I found there was nothing for her to worry about.
Her palm lines clearly showed a good marriage in the near future.
Hearing this, S was overjoyed.
And most importantly, she was able to completely reject the negative prediction she had believed abut herself for so long.
The key is first to completely reject the negative prediction.
Then, hear a positive future, believe in it, and have it overwrite the negative belief.
Only then can your subconscious begin to visualize a positive future.
(And what your subconscious believes is what shapes your destiny.)
S is lucky. She was able to have me remove the poison arrow.
She’s going to be okay.
Accuracy isn’t everything
Now, I want to say something about fortune tellers who make predictions about the future.
Accuracy is important in fortune telling. But accuracy alone isn’t everything.
For example, imagine a doctor tells a patient: “You have terminal stomach cancer. You have six months left to live.”
Then the patient dies six months later. The diagnosis was, of course, accurate.
But is that really enough?
Wouldn’t the best doctor be one who says,
“Let’s work together to figure out what to do. We’ll make a treatment plan. We’ll beat this”?
The one who stays by the patient’s side and fights to heal them, so the patient doesn’t become so unhappy?
What use is there in a diagnosis being correct, and the patient dying?
The same is true for fortune tellers
Fortune tellers are no different. Yes, accuracy is important.
But accuracy alone is not enough.
We have to recognize how much damage ominous predictions, like the one given by this truly terrible fortune teller, can do—
how they can destroy people’s dreams, hopes, and happiness.
An ominous prediction for the future is only meaningful if it comes with advice on how to avoid it.
A true master makes sure an unhappy future does not come true
A doctor whose only goal is to be “right” is a terrible doctor.
A doctor’s job is supposed to be to heal people.
It isn’t just to be accurate.
The same can be said for fortune tellers.
A fortune teller’s true role is to guide people toward a better destiny.
It isn’t just to be accurate.
Unhappiness is not something we should be accurate about.
Our mission is to guide people toward happiness
So please, don’t believe doctors who tell you such terrible things.
If a doctor is treating you as if your dying is inevitable, and simply following standard treatment protocols, that is not enough.
The true mission of doctors and fortune tellers is to guide our patients and customers toward happiness.
That’s what separates truly great doctors and master fortune tellers apart from ordinary practitioners.
That’s all for today.
I hope today’s story gives you some hint toward building a happier life.
